Itinerary in São Francisco do Sul for a family of 4
Want to explore São Francisco do Sul with your family? Well, you are in the right post!
This itinerary was designed for you who want to enjoy a quick and memorable vacation with your family! We know that, sometimes, we don't have many vacation days from work, so this itinerary was thought for a family of 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) who will stay for 4 days in the city.

The best time of year to visit São Chico with the family is in the summer, which runs from December to March. However, if you want to avoid the crowds, it's best to get here in November or March...always try to avoid dates like Christmas and New Year if you prefer places with less people.
Ah, if you come by plane, you should probably land at airports like Joinville’s airport. In this case, the best thing to do is take an Uber to get to São Francisco do Sul (it's the most comfortable way when you're with your family). Now, if you're around town, it's easy to get here by car (that you can rent in joinville). To get to São Chico, it's worth using Waze or Google Maps!
A good place to stay with the family is the Hotel Porto de Paz, which is just a 3-minute walk from Praia de Itaguaçu (Itaguaçu Beach). It is located in a quiet area, it is a 3 star hotel that offers breakfast and a nice swimming pool. The daily rate per person is around 230 reais, which ends up being a fair price for the comfort and tranquility that your family will have.
Now that you have an idea of how to get and where to stay in the city, it's time to get to know São Francisco do Sul in 4 days!
Day 1: Wake up, have breakfast and head to the beach! A morning at Itaguaçu Beach (in front of your hotel) is amazing to rest and get a tan! The sea is not the most agitated and the beach is not so crowded (compared to other places). At lunchtime, a good choice is the Harry restaurant: self-service with many options, costing R$27.00 per person. Sometimes some restaurants may charge a little less for kids. In the afternoon, you can visit Forte Marechal Luz. There, in addition to the beach, you can take nice pictures of the cannons and trenches and visit the museum. To access the Forte, each person is charged R$2.00. How about pizza for dinner? There are great pizzerias in São Francisco do Sul... an excellent one is Kanto da Pizza (you can eat at the restaurant or take delivery).

Day 2: Time to get to know Enseada! In the morning, you can go to Enseada Beach or Molhe beach (two nearby beaches)! The sea is very good for children and there are surf boards and chairs to be rented. For lunch, a great option is tapioca: delicious, cheap and with several filling options (inclusive sweet). After lunch, you can enjoy the beach a little more, have ice cream, play volleyball and walk along the boardwalk. You can stay to discover Enseada at night: there is a craft fair (which sells from bracelets to dream filters) and a large gallery of shops for you to explore. Plus, you can enjoy a bike ride with lots of other people! At dinner, you can have a savory crepe and enjoy a nice churros for dessert!

Day 3: The day to visit Centro Histórico (historical center) has arrived! There are beautiful buildings over there and it's a great place to take pictures! At noon, you can have lunch at Inês Zardo (self-service): a typical Brazilian food (rice, beans, salad, meat). In the afternoon, it is worth visiting Museu Nacional do Mar (Museum of the Sea), which brings together in its collection a big diversity of vessels from various regions of the country. To end the day, there's nothing better than a delicious dinner! Deck 20 restaurant is right there in the historical center (on the edge of Baía da Babitonga (Babitonga Bay)), has several options (pasta, fish, meat...) and, depending on the day, has live music.
